Vitamalt History
Vitamalt has a rich history that spans over six decades, evolving from a malt beer exported from Denmark in the 1960s to becoming a beloved malt beverage enjoyed in over 60 countries today. What started as a nutritional solution in Nigeria, recognized for its natural Vitamin B content, quickly expanded across the West Indies and the Caribbean, where it gained widespread popularity. By 1990, Vitamalt had made its way to the Bahamas, cementing itself as a household name and a drink that generations have come to love. With its iconic bottle design and commitment to innovation, Vitamalt became the first malt brand to introduce flavored variants, starting with Ginger in 1995, followed by other functional flavors infused with ingredients like Aloe Vera, Ginseng, and Acai. Today, Vitamalt is more than just a beverage in the Bahamas—it’s a cultural staple, a drink that brings families together, and a symbol of energy and vitality. Bahamians can enjoy a variety of flavors, including Classic, Coconut & Hibiscus, Acai, and Ginger, all available through our 700 stores across the islands. As we continue to innovate and expand, Vitamalt remains a brand deeply rooted in tradition while evolving to meet the needs of today’s consumers.

We’ve made history! Commonwealth Brewery Ltd. is proud to launch Vitamalt Vanilla. The first of its kind in the world, and it all started right here in The Bahamas. With no added sugar, this smooth, creamy, vanilla-infused malt is our better-for-you option—crafted for health-conscious fans who still want to enjoy that classic Vitamalt taste. The best part? The whole world’s going to want it and we did it first!

"It’s a twist on tradition and no, it’s NOT Made in China!" – Our NEW bottles are lighter green shade and twist-off for easy sipping, but don’t worry—we didn’t mess with the flavor. Some think it’s from China, but it’s still 100% Vitamalt, just with a little extra convenience!
Vitamalt Mixology: Caribbean-Style! 🍻🌴
🥛 Vitamalt & Condensed Milk
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle Vitamalt
- 2–3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
- Ice (optional)
Ingredients:
- Pour the Vitamalt into a tall glass.
- Add condensed milk and stir vigorously until fully combined.
- Add ice if desired for a cold, creamy finish.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
🥜 Vitamalt & Peanut Punch
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle Vitamalt
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk (or regular milk)
- 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional)
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
- In a blender, combine peanut butter, milk, nutmeg, and optional sweetener.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Add Vitamalt and blend gently just to mix (or stir in by hand to keep carbonation).
- Pour over ice and garnish with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
- Serve chilled!
🥥 Vitamalt & Coconut Water
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle Vitamalt
- 1/2 cup chilled coconut water
- Ice cubes
- (Optional: splash of lime juice or a mint sprig)
Instructions:
- Fill a tall glass with ice.
- Pour in coconut water followed by Vitamalt.
- Stir gently to combine.
- Add a splash of lime juice or a mint sprig for a tropical twist.
- Sip and enjoy the refreshment!
